This high-barrier roll film is intended for products where oxygen, moisture and light are the main threats to quality during storage. A metallised or aluminium foil layer is laminated into the structure, and the outer surface carries the printed design while the inner layer seals the pack on the machine.
The film is chosen when a standard clear laminate would not hold the product in condition for long enough — for example nuts, coffee, tea, milk powder, dried meat and powdered drinks. Barrier level is matched to the target shelf life: where a metallised layer is sufficient we use it, and where the product needs the highest protection the structure moves up to a full foil layer. Gauge typically runs 6 to 12 silk and the web is slit to your machine.
Printing in 1–8 colours is applied over the full web, and the roll is wound to the diameter and core your machine requires. Guangdong Kody Packaging manufactures and laminates the film in-house and supplies trial rolls before mass production.
